To the Editor: Hey fellows! Do you recognize that old gray-headed guy who passes by fairly early every morning? Shall we say, for a stroll. Well, we all had one, a few years back, but that was when we all just looked to him for advice on how to do things that were a little beyond our own category. He taught us all the difference between right and wrong and to not butt in on an affair that was none of ours or other people's business. He always wanted what was best for us and made no bones about it. He taught us a lot more than we realized at the time. He made sure that we got to school on time and showed us how to do our chores every night and morning. He helped us with our homework while we were going to school. He wasn't famous nationwide, but he taught us to keep track of what was going on in our own back yard, like mowing the lawn, feeding the chickens, chopping wood and seeing that a lot of other things too numerous to mention were taken care of. So now he's old and stove up with "rheumatism" and he still does his best, to show how much he loves all of his children and grandkids. He never made the "White House" but he's more famous than all of them up there. My dad was the greatest man who ever walked the streets of town. He always had a friendly greeting for each and every one who he would happen to meet and if any one needed some kind of help, he would and was willing to lend a hand. He never knew how to spell "no" when someone needed help. So come on all of you guys. Give "three cheers" for that old guy on June 16th and make him feel appreciated. He'll love you for it. I never had the chance to choose the man to be my "Dad", but I sure do thank my lucky stars for the choice my mother made! by Linc France
